Build a computer from the ground up! In this Build a Computer summer camp, students will learn about the functions of computer components and how to select components for both compatibility and particular tasks.

Students will also delve into the history of personal computers and learn binary code.

Computer components include parts such as the CPU, motherboard, RAM and power supply.

Binary numbers are expressed in the base-2 numeral system and consist only of 1s and 0s.

Objectives

In this course, students will disassembele and reassemble a desktop PC, identify and describe the function of its components and select components for compatibility from a website.

Through this course, students will learn the form and function of computer components, how to select compatible components, best-practices and binary code.
