Stack Overflow is an online platform for questions and answers about topics in computer programming. In its annual Developer Survey, professional developers selected the most popular programming, scripting and markup languages.

Notably, Python has moved just ahead of Java this year and is currently the fastest-growing among major programming languages. JavaScript ranked first in this survey for the seventh consecutive year.
